Neuro Critical Care currently has an exciting opportunity for band 5 vacancies.
The unit is 12 bedded critical care area comprising of 6 Intensive Care beds and 6 high dependency beds which has the ability to flex up to 12 ITU beds. Queen's Hospital is a tertiary referral unit offering an integrated seamless service for Neuro Critical Care patients from all of Essex county and London when the emergency bed service requires beds. The unit also is able to accommodate general ITU patients when required, and the unit has the expertise to manage patients that require haemofiltration.
The teams on the unit are led by senior nurses who are very instrumental in supporting and developing junior staff. The Trust endorses professional and academic development for all nursing staff, and the Unit proudly runs its own in house Neuro Foundation course which has proven to be very beneficial to new staff joining the team.
The unit is actively involved in ICNARC data collection (Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre) which facilitates unit activity mapping and can indicate effective use of resources and targets being achieved.
