Locum Specialty Doctor – Orthodontics

Applications are invited for two posts for the position of Specialty Doctor in Orthodontics (Part-time, 6 months or a year’s duration) to join the orthodontic team which is based at Queens’ Hospital, Romford. One of these posts will be providing locum maternity cover for 12 months’ duration, however there is scope for further development of each post and towards the possibility of becoming substantive. One of the posts can be undertaken as substantive from the outset. The successful applicants will join a Consultant led team working within Orthodontics with Joint Orthognathic work together with the Maxillofacial Department. The post holders will have achieved an MOrth in Orthodontics or equivalent and must be on or working towards being on the UK General Dental Council Specialist List for Orthodontics.

The appointees will be expected to participate with Consultant colleagues to provide full Clinical Services in Orthodontics. We are looking for enthusiastic team players, who can help to develop this service and expand the future roles of the department.

The post holders will support the delivery of the National Health Service Plan, will be expected to attend clinical governance meetings and take part in continual professional development in line with Royal College guidelines and will have the opportunity to work in a large and developing department with enthusiastic colleagues.

In addition, our Trust is in an excellent location, close to Central London and well situated in the South East. As well as all the advantages of being close to the city, you will discover that Essex has a beautiful countryside as well as excellent schools, transport links, amenities and residential areas. The Trust has on-site nursery facilities.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the Resident Labour Market Test. The UK Visas and Immigration department requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.

From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
